Porto Antico di Genova resumes historical discovery tours

The Porto Antico in Genoa is relaunching its historical discovery tours, titled ‘Di molo in molo’. The program offers a journey through the origins and transformations of the area, focusing on its 19th and 20th-century history prior to the major urban redevelopments of the 1990s.

The guided tours explore industrial archaeology and historical landmarks, including the Tannett Walker steam crane, port railway tracks, the ancient aqueduct, and the Porta del Molo (Porta Siberia) designed by Galeazzo Alessi. Participants can also view historical barges revitalized by Renzo Piano. The experience aims to preserve the memory of the city’s largest industrial hub by examining ancient trades and the evolution of labor from mechanization to the digital age.

Upcoming tour dates are scheduled for August 30, September 20, October 25, and November 29. The tours are available in Italian, English, French, and Spanish at a cost of 20 Euro per person.
