Porto-Brusino Trail highlights UNESCO Mount San Giorgio

The second edition of the Porto-Brusino Trail is set to take place, focusing on the UNESCO-listed Mount San Giorgio. This cross-border event strengthens ties between the Italian municipality of Porto Ceresio and the Swiss municipality of Brusino Arsizio.

Under the slogan ‘Sui sentieri dell’Unesco’ (On the UNESCO paths), the initiative includes a running race through forests, a lakeside walk for families, postural gymnastics lessons, and cultural sessions. Organized by the A.S.D. Atletica 3V association and the Porto-Brusino Trail italo-Swiss committee, the event aims to highlight the shared UNESCO heritage of both the Italian and Swiss sides of the mountain.

Cultural programming will feature geologist Markus Felber discussing the UNESCO candidacy and Monsignor Piergiacomo Grampa speaking on the figure of Blessed Manfredo Settala in Porto Ceresio on October 24.
