Porto Ceresio inaugurates restored former Customs House as tourist office

The municipality of Porto Ceresio has officially inaugurated the restored ex Regia Dogana, a historic building dating back to the 1920s that had long remained unused. Located near the railway station, pier, and lakefront, the building will now serve as a Tourist Office providing local information and visitor services.

The restoration project cost a total of 200,000 euros. Funding was provided by the Lombardy Region with a 100,000 euro contribution, and 30,000 euros from the Ceresio, Piano, and Ghirla Basin Authority.

This recovery effort is a central component of the ‘Nuovo Baricentro Ceresino’ strategy, an urban redevelopment plan aimed at revitalizing the lakeshore, creating new public spaces, and improving pedestrian connectivity along the waterfront.
