Porto Cervo hosts 36th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup

The 36th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup has commenced in Porto Cervo, featuring a fleet of more than 40 maxi yachts. Organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in collaboration with the International Maxi Association and supported by Rolex, the event includes various designs ranging from performance cruisers to highly developed racers, as well as six multihulls.

Two world titles are at stake this year: the Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship and the Rolex IMA Grand Prix World Championship. Racing will take place in the La Maddalena Archipelago and the waters off Porto Cervo.

A new crew bonus has been introduced to the Notice of Race to encourage greater participation from female sailors and young sailors under the age of 21. Additionally, technical preparations for the event have included extensive yacht refits and the delivery of over 80 custom sails by Doyle Sails to support the various divisions.
