Porto Cesareo 12‑year‑old maimed in dog attack; two teen sisters detained
On 27 April in Porto Cesareo, a 12‑year‑old girl was violently attacked with a Rottweiler and a Caucasian Shepherd owned by two local sisters, aged 15 and 17. The assault was captured on video, showing the attackers shouting phrases such as “Muori dissanguata” (“Die, bleeding out”). The girl suffered deep leg wounds, required emergency transport and subsequent surgery.
The sisters are now being investigated for aggravated personal injury. Prosecutor for minors Simona Filoni has seized their phones and is reviewing surveillance footage to establish motive and the nature of the pre‑planned ambush. The dogs have been taken from the family and handed over to an animal welfare association. Local Carabinieri are leading the case, and the victim is being represented by lawyer Rocco Rizzello.
