Porto de Paranaguá connects Moegão project to private terminal
The Porto de Paranaguá has completed the first connection between its Moegão project and a private terminal. The operation linked Tower 3 to the ALTP terminal, a consortium composed of Louis Dreyfus Company and Amaggi.
The Moegão is currently the largest port project under construction in Brazil, representing an investment of approximately R$ 650 million to R$ 700 million funded by Portos do Paraná and BNDES. The project features a 1.7-kilometer central gallery containing over 4,000 meters of conveyor belts designed to transport bulk goods from trains directly to terminals for ship loading.
This connection marks the first of 11 planned private terminals for the East Export Corridor to be integrated into the system. Once fully operational, the Moegão is expected to increase the port's capacity to handle up to 24 million tons of grains and meals per year via rail. The integration of all 11 terminals is projected to be completed by October 2027.
