Porto Heli hotel owner dies after falling from sixth floor

Domna Tortopidou, the 64-year-old owner of the Galaxias Hotel in the Petrothalassa area of Porto Heli, has died following a fall from the sixth floor of the hotel complex on Saturday, August 9.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy. While the possibility of suicide is being considered as one potential scenario, no definitive conclusion has been reached. Investigators are currently reviewing witness testimonies, examining physical evidence at the scene, and awaiting the results of a forensic examination to clarify the sequence of events.

Tortopidou was a well-known figure in the local tourism industry in the Ermionida region. The Galaxias Hotel previously gained national attention in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when it served as a facility for refugees and migrants and experienced approximately 150 reported cases of the virus, leading to a quarantine of the premises.
