Porto Mendes park undergoes infrastructure improvements

The municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon is implementing several infrastructure improvements at the Porto Mendes leisure and tourism park. Managed by the Secretariat of Economic Development and Tourism, the project aims to increase comfort and security ahead of the spring season.

Key upgrades include the installation of new barbecue pits, the replacement or addition of approximately 30 sinks, cleaning and maintenance of the waterfront, and the expansion of boat parking for fishermen. Improvements are also being made to bathrooms and other collective use areas.

Despite these investments, local authorities expressed concern regarding ongoing vandalism. The destruction of public equipment, such as tables, showers, and toilets, continues to cause additional costs for the municipality and requires frequent repairs.
