Porto Prosecutor charges youth with 76 child pornography crimes

The Porto Regional Attorney General's Office has charged a young man, who was a minor at the time of the offenses, with 76 counts of child pornography and the incitement of hatred and violence.

According to the Public Ministry, the suspect committed these crimes between 2024 and 2025, aged 16 and 17, using various digital platforms including Discord and Telegram. The prosecution alleges that the individual targeted young girls, particularly those with emotional vulnerabilities, by encouraging self-harm. This included the creation of a video tutorial that provided step-by-step instructions on self-mutilation techniques.

The indictment further states that the suspect coerced victims into acts of self-harm or sexual connotation and distributed or requested child pornography involving children under the age of 14. The defendant is currently awaiting trial in preventive detention.
