Porto San Giorgio stabbing leaves teen injured, attacker flees

A night‑time altercation on the Gramsci promenade in Porto San Giorgio, Italy, ended with a 17‑year‑old boy of North‑African origin being stabbed in the side with a cutter. The assault, carried out by a peer of Eastern‑European (Albanian) background, occurred around 3 a.m. on 3 August 2026. Emergency services and volunteers from the local Blue Cross rushed the victim to the Murri hospital in Fermo, after which he was transferred to the Torrette hospital in Ancona. The Carabinieri opened an investigation to identify the assailant, who fled the scene.

The incident follows recent measures announced by Mayor Valerio Vesprini, who had asked the Prefecture to strengthen surveillance on the promenade after a series of weekend disturbances.
