Porto Santo hosts fifth Festa da Escola festival
The fifth edition of Festa da Escola begins in Porto Santo, an initiative by Porta 33 that integrates contemporary art, ecology, pedagogy, gastronomy, and local knowledge. This year's event marks the start of a new programming cycle following four years of activity. The festival aims to involve the island community and preserve local memory while connecting culture with nature.
In Porto, the theatrical production ‘TEMPORAL’ is being presented at Teatro Sá da Bandeira. The work, a co-production involving the Directorate-General for the Arts, uses archival documents to explore theater history through the lens of Carlos Oliveira and his father.
Additionally, the Portuguese government has opened applications for the second edition of the ‘Arte e Coesão Territorial’ support program. This includes a 1.0 million euro fund for municipalities with low professional artistic density and a 0.5 million euro fund for entities previously supported by the program.
