Porto Torres Carabinieri issue fines for reckless driving

Carabinieri in Porto Torres have conducted a series of traffic enforcement operations targeting reckless driving, resulting in fines totaling 5,729 euros. The crackdown focused heavily on young riders using small-displacement motorcycles and scooters.

Authorities reported several dangerous behaviors, including high speeds in residential areas and the use of non-homologated or modified vehicles. One notable incident involved a young driver caught performing a wheelie on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, leading to a 60-day vehicle seizure, loss of license points, and a significant fine. Other penalties included sanctions for driving without a license, which can carry fines exceeding 2,000 euros and potential arrest for repeat offenders, as well as citations for vehicles lacking required inspections.
