University of Porto joins Porto Municipal Health Council

The University of Porto has established a significant presence in the newly formed Porto Municipal Health Council. Represented by 12 different schools and research units, the university will contribute to defining municipal health policies and planning the primary healthcare network for the municipality.

The council, composed of 31 entities, held its inaugural meeting on October 15. Members approved the body's regulations and signed the ‘Porto Charter for Health’, a document committing to a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable city. The council aims to promote cooperation between health entities and recommend measures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the local healthcare system.
