Porto University Team to Represent Portugal at 2026 European Cyber Security Challenge
Three University of Porto students – Pedro Pinheiro, Nuno Saavedra and Kevin Pucci – have qualified to form part of Team Portugal for the European Cyber Security Challenge 2026. The trio belong to xSTF, a group linked to the Master’s programme in Computer Security at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto.
The team will travel to Germany for the competition scheduled from 12 to 16 October 2026. Their selection followed the national CyberSecurity Challenge Portugal, with a final boot‑camp held in Rio Maior from 17 to 20 July. They will be coached by André Baptista, an alumnus of the same master’s programme. The event is organised by the Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale and the CINI Cybersecurity National Lab, with support from ENISA.
Team Portugal, composed of ten young talents aged 16‑25 from secondary and higher education across Portugal, will tackle challenges in attack‑defence, web, mobile, hardware, cryptography, reverse engineering and forensics.
