Porto Velho boosts road repairs and skate park upgrades under mayor Léo Moraes

The municipal government of Porto Velho has intensified its road‑maintenance program, reporting that more than 5,744 pothole sites were repaired between 1 January and 2 July 2026, a rise of 22.4% over the same period in 2025. Mayor Léo Moraes said the work improves traffic safety, reduces vehicle wear and enhances urban mobility.

At the same time, the city’s Skate Parque has undergone extensive renovations, including a new pedestrian bridge, upgraded lighting, refreshed pavement, improved restrooms, a hydration station and accessible walkways. Vehicle access inside the park has been restricted to pedestrians only. “We want families to occupy city spaces with safety, comfort and dignity,” Moraes said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to public‑space quality.
