Porto Velho drainage works prevent recurring flooding

A new drainage system on Pinheiro Machado Avenue in Porto Velho has successfully prevented the recurring flooding that has plagued the area for eight years. Following heavy rainfall on Tuesday, the section between Venezuela and Mexico streets remained passable for vehicles and pedestrians, marking a significant change for local businesses and residents.

Local business owner Alexandre Ramos reported that previous flooding caused property damage and accidents, such as employees falling from motorcycles. Mayor Léo Moraes stated that the completed infrastructure project, finished on June 28, aims to provide long-term solutions to historical drainage issues in the city.
