Porto Velho launches awards for employees and senior citizen event

The Porto Velho City Hall has introduced new initiatives to recognize municipal staff and promote social inclusion. The Municipal Administration Secretariat (Semad) published notices for the ‘Prêmio Servidor de Valor’ and the ‘Prêmio Inova Estágio PVH’. These awards aim to reward civil servants for voluntary community work in areas such as education, culture, and the environment, while also incentivizing interns to develop projects that improve administrative efficiency and public service.

In a separate social initiative, the Municipal Secretariat for Inclusion and Social Assistance (Semias) is hosting the ‘Miss and Mister Melhor Idade 2026’ contest. Held at the Centro de Convivência do Idoso, the event is designed to promote active aging, social integration, and self-esteem among the elderly population. The contest is part of a broader series of municipal actions aimed at ensuring dignity and quality of life for senior citizens.
