Porto Velho municipality boosts pay and benefits for over 8,500 city workers
The municipal government of Porto Velho approved a comprehensive package of salary increases, bonuses and career‑advancement measures for its public‑sector staff. The plan covers more than 30 professional categories, including teachers, nurses, health‑clinic aides, sanitation workers, drivers, heavy‑machine operators and administrative assistants. In total, 8,559 municipal employees will receive direct financial or work‑condition improvements.
Mayor Léo Moraes presented the package as a permanent commitment to recognize and value the personnel who keep city services running, from education and health to infrastructure and administration. The measures are intended to raise service quality for residents and address long‑standing demands from municipal workers.
The initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Porto Velho administration to modernise public‑service employment conditions and strengthen the city’s human‑resource capacity.
