Porto Velho officials discuss security for commercial areas

Security forces, public officials, and business representatives met in Porto Velho to discuss strategies for reinforcing policing in major commercial areas. The meeting focused on creating integrated actions to protect merchants, workers, and customers.

One active initiative is ‘Comércio Protegido’, a partnership between the Porto Velho City Hall, the Military Police, and State Public Security. This program utilizes ‘Atividade Delegada’ officers to increase patrolling, particularly during the early morning hours. Mayor Léo Moraes stated that the city has already deployed four patrols to reinforce daily monitoring during the night to support the local economy.
