Porto Velho police investigate fatal motorcycle collision
Security camera footage has clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of a 40-year-old motorcyclist in Porto Velho, Brazil. The incident occurred on Thursday morning on Rua União in the São Francisco neighborhood.
Initially, authorities investigated the death as a potential case of sudden illness. However, video recordings revealed that the woman's motorcycle was struck by a car. The impact caused her to fall and strike her head against the asphalt. Following the collision, the victim managed to stand up and place her vehicle on its kickstand, but she lost consciousness while leaning over the handlebars and died minutes later.
Police have shifted the investigation from natural causes to a traffic accident. The Medical Legal Institute (IML) is finalizing its report, but the primary line of inquiry suggests the death resulted from complications of a traumatic brain injury sustained during the impact.
