Porto Velho vehicle targeted by gunfire during Lula victory celebrations

A vehicle carrying Douglas Fogaça, the son of Porto Velho councilman Everaldo Fogaça, was struck by seven gunshots in downtown Porto Velho on Sunday night. Douglas was traveling with his wife and two children when the incident occurred.

According to family reports, the car was stopped at a traffic light while a sound truck nearby played music celebrating the election victory of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The councilman stated that his son is a supporter of the PT party and was heading to a celebration when the attack took place.

Everaldo Fogaça indicated that the individual responsible for the shots has been identified as a Military Police sergeant and believes the attack was politically motivated. No injuries were reported. The Civil Police are currently investigating the incident.
