Porto Walter expands diagnostic capacity with new ECG machine

The Porto Walter Municipal Health Department has expanded its diagnostic capabilities by installing a new electrocardiogram (ECG) machine at the UBS Maurício Pinheiro in the Portelinha neighborhood.

This addition brings the municipality's total to two ECG machines, with the second located at the Diagnostic Center on Rua Beira Rio. The equipment allows for the rapid, non-invasive recording of electrical heart activity to help identify arrhythmias, heart rate changes, signs of infarction, and ischemia.

Health Secretary Ana Flávia Melo stated that the new installation aims to decentralize health services, bringing diagnostic tools closer to residents to strengthen cardiovascular prevention and monitoring.
