Portoferraio students complete “Amico Polpo” marine conservation project
The “Amico Polpo” (Octopus Friend) educational and environmental project recently concluded in Portoferraio. The initiative involved fifth-grade students from the “Casa del Duca” primary school and aimed to raise awareness about the biology and conservation of the octopus (Octopus vulgaris).
Developed through a collaboration between the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, the “Casa del Duca” school, and the “Bioasis G. Coletti” BIO-FIPSAS Center, the project sought to teach students best practices for respecting the marine environment. The initiative also aimed to engage families and the local community in biodiversity conservation efforts.
