Portoferraio to dedicate street to Oreste Bertucci

The municipality of Portoferraio will dedicate a street to Oreste Bertucci, the former long-standing President of the Order of Labor Consultants in Rome. The official dedication ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Portoferraio in 1920, Bertucci maintained a lifelong connection to his hometown. He served as a city councilor and participated in various social and cultural initiatives for the Elba community. His history with the city also includes military service; following September 8, 1943, he served in the anti-aircraft battery of the Grotte and was wounded during a bombardment on September 16.

While much of his professional career was built in Rome, the street naming serves to honor his professional legacy and his roots in Portoferraio. The announcement was made by Mayor Tiziano Nocentini during the Festival del Lavoro in Rome.
