Kalmar secures Brazil electric reachstacker order and deepens automation partnership with APM Terminals
Kalmar Corporation will supply five electric reachstackers to Brazilian terminal operator Portonave for deployment at the Navegantes terminal in Santa Catarina, with delivery slated for the fourth quarter of 2026. The machines are designed to provide zero‑emission cargo handling while maintaining productivity.
Separately, Kalmar and APM Terminals have announced a strategic partnership to co‑develop the Kalmar One automation platform and an Automation‑as‑a‑Service offering. The collaboration will involve joint software development, deployment to existing and future terminals, and alignment of product roadmaps, leveraging APM Terminals' operational expertise. APM Terminals already operates Kalmar One at its Pier 400 terminal in Los Angeles, California, and the partnership aims to enhance safety, efficiency and reduce complexity across automated container terminals.
