Porto's Festival da Comida Continente attracts thousands with free concerts and gourmet chefs

The eighth edition of the Festival da Comida Continente returned to Porto's Parque da Cidade on July 11‑12, offering a two‑day programme of free live music, cooking demonstrations and family activities. Six renowned chefs, including Chakall, Hélio Loureiro and Diogo Rocha, performed showcookings while fourteen national and international artists such as MC Livinho, Mizzy Miles, Anselmo Ralph and Tony Carreira played on three stages. The event, organised by the supermarket chain Continente, introduced a dedicated space for the Clube de Produtores Continente to showcase Portuguese food producers. Organisers encouraged public‑transport use, providing a free shuttle service between Casa da Música (Metro) and the festival entrances, with additional free rides for young passengers and reinforced bus lines. Attendance was open to all, with families bringing picnic blankets, food and pets to enjoy the outdoor setting.
