Portsmouth eyes signings of Arvin Appiah and Abu Kamara
Portsmouth Football Club is actively pursuing two players to bolster its squad for the upcoming Championship season. The club is close to offering a contract to 25‑year‑old full‑back Arvin Appiah, who has been on trial after leaving Spanish side UD Almeria. Manager John Mousinho sees Appiah as a cost‑effective option to add depth at left‑back, a position weakened by injuries that threatened relegation last season.
Portsmouth are also keen to re‑sign 23‑year‑old striker Abu Kamara, currently on the books of Hull City. Kamara previously spent a loan spell at Fratton Park in 2023/24 and most recently played for Getafe before a foot injury limited his appearances. With two years remaining on his Hull contract, his agent’s stance is uncertain, but the club views him as a potential attacking weapon for the new campaign.
