Portugal achieves historic milestone with three tennis players in ATP top 100

Portuguese tennis has reached a historic milestone following the latest ATP world rankings update. For the first time since the rankings were established in 1973, Portugal has three players simultaneously ranked in the top 100.

Henrique Rocha, 22, rose to the 100th position after moving up from 105th the previous week. He joins Nuno Borges, ranked 53rd, and Jaime Faria, ranked 57th. Rocha becomes the ninth Portuguese player to reach the top 100, joining the ranks of players such as João Sousa and Frederico Gil. At 22, he is the third youngest Portuguese player to achieve this feat, following Nuno Marques and Jaime Faria.

Rocha’s ascent follows his performance at the Lisboa Belém Open challenger, where he secured two victories before falling in the quarterfinals to Denmark’s Elmer Moller.
