Portugal achieves historic 4th place ranking at WorldSkills Shanghai

At the 48th WorldSkills Competition held in Shanghai, China, Portugal achieved its highest-ever global ranking, finishing fourth overall. The Portuguese delegation secured seven awards, including a silver medal in industrial robotics won by Loris Sgroj and Diogo Pinto, and six Medallions for Excellence in fields such as hairdressing, mobile robotics, CNC machining, industrial control, and welding.

Macau also saw success at the event, earning four distinctions. This included a gold medal in visual merchandising and window dressing by Wong Wei Kei, a silver medal in drone systems by Chao Chi Hou, and a bronze medal in retail trade by Cloe Hoo Carvalho. Macau's delegation also received 11 Medallions for Excellence.

The competition featured approximately 1,385 young competitors from 68 countries and regions, marking the first time the event was hosted in China.
