Portugal Air Summit cancelled this year for reinvention

The Portugal Air Summit, a biennial aeronautical event scheduled to take place in Ponte de Sor, has been cancelled for this year. The organizers, the Ponte de Sor Municipal Council and the Commercial and Industrial Association of Ponte de Sor (ACIPS), announced that the event will take a pause to allow for a reinvention of the summit and its promotional strategy for the regional aeronautical cluster.

Mayor Rogério Alves stated that while the decision was difficult, the goal is to evolve the event to ensure it remains a value-add rather than just a tradition. He noted that the original objective of placing Ponte de Sor on the global map for aviation, aeronautics, and defense has been achieved, and the sector has grown significantly since the summit's inception in 2017.
