Portugal allocates funds to ARDITI and Azores MARTEC marine technology projects
The Portuguese Council of Government approved a contract‑program with the Agency for Regional Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI) worth up to €525,129 to acquire ocean technologies and strengthen the agency’s marine‑tech capabilities.
The Bloco de Esquerda party has asked the Azores regional government for details on the governance, management, financing and strategic planning of the Tecnopolo MARTEC project on Faial Island. The MARTEC hub, funded with more than €22 million from the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan, aims to create a marine research and innovation centre serving scientific institutions and companies in the Azores.
Both initiatives reflect the Portuguese government's effort to boost marine research, innovation and the blue economy through substantial public investment.
