Portugal and Italy rail strikes set to disrupt travel in June

Portugal will hold a nationwide general strike on 3 June, called by the CGTP union federation to protest proposed labour‑reform legislation. Unions in aviation and rail have pledged action, with the airline sector warning that up to 500 flights could be cancelled or delayed at Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports, while the rail operator CP expects major service reductions across metro, commuter and intercity lines.
