Municipalities in Portugal and Brazil launch infrastructure projects

Various municipalities in Portugal and Brazil are undertaking significant infrastructure projects focused on urban maintenance, water management, and education.

In Portugal, Alpiarça is conducting maintenance on schools, industrial zones, and road networks. Viseu's SMAS has allocated over 215,000 euros for water and sanitation upgrades in several parishes. Sintra is investing 1 million euros to reduce water waste through pressure regulation, while Santa Maria da Feira is committing 1.7 million euros to support its school network. In the Azores, over 1 million euros has been awarded for the rehabilitation of the Biscoitos school. Additionally, Porto de Mós has inaugurated a 12.5 million euro school expansion project funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

In Brazil, drainage works are underway in the Joaquim Curvo neighborhood to mitigate flooding, supported by a 1.59 million real investment. In Palmas, crews are installing macro-drainage galleries on Avenida LO-21 to resolve long-standing water accumulation issues. Meanwhile, in Itabuna, Emasa is relocating water pipelines to facilitate the construction of a new viaduct at the Tancredo Neves roundabout. Other local initiatives include environmental education projects in Altos, Piauí.
