Search continues for missing photographer Ana Paula Silveira in Paraná

Photographer Ana Paula Silveira, 29, disappeared on 25 July 2026 while attempting to cross the Lajeado Liso river at the Salto das Orquídeas waterfall complex in Sapopema, Paraná. The Paraná Fire Department leads a task‑force that includes Civil Defense, volunteers, drones, an aircraft and specialized rescue teams, totaling roughly 30 personnel. The operation is divided into two fronts, upstream and downstream of the river, and five firefighters from Telêmaco Borba and Ponta Grosa have been deployed.

The search was halted on the night of 26 July and resumed on the morning of 27 July. As of that date no trace of Ana Paula has been found. Her companion, Ana Carolina Camilo, survived the incident but suffered a fracture of the L2 lumbar vertebra and was treated at a hospital in Cornélio Procópio.
