Portugal Becomes Hub for New Cybersecurity Centers in Lisbon and Doha

Vodafone Group Plc announced the establishment of a Global Cyber Centre in Lisbon, Portugal. The centre will initially employ about 40 specialists and join Vodafone’s existing cybersecurity hubs in the United Kingdom, Germany, Romania and India. It will focus on protecting the operator’s worldwide operations, networks, services and customers, with a particular emphasis on AI‑driven security and incident response.

Portuguese offensive‑security firm CyberX opened a new office in Doha, Qatar, after launching a Dubai office earlier this year. The Doha site will participate in the Qatar Science & Technology Park’s incubation programme for up to two years, aiming to serve clients across the Middle East. Founder and CEO David Silva highlighted the plan to expand AI‑based threat‑intelligence capabilities through the company’s The Omniscient platform and to foster partnerships with regional universities, investors and government entities.
