Spain women's field hockey finishes 7th in World Cup

In international sports, the Spanish women’s field hockey team, known as the ‘Redsticks’, secured seventh place at the 2026 World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands. After a 1-1 draw against China during regulation time, Spain won the match 2-1 via a penalty shoot-out. In women’s volleyball, the Portuguese national team made history by qualifying for the round of 16 at the European Championship after a 3-2 victory over Romania. Portugal finished fourth in Group C and will proceed to compete in Turkey.
