Portugal defeats Spain to win T20 World Cup Qualifier C
Portugal defeated Spain by 57 runs in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Sub Regional Qualifier C held in Kerava, Finland. The victory keeps Portugal's hopes of qualifying for the 2028 T20 World Cup alive and advances them to the 2027 Europe Qualifier.
Led by Moises Henriques, Portugal posted a total of 160/6. Contributions included 39 runs from Christopher De Freitas and an unbeaten 18 off eight balls from Jeremy Martins. In response, Spain was bowled out for 103 in 17.1 overs. Edward Fleming led the Portuguese bowling attack with figures of 3/13, while Siraj Ullah Khadem took 2/19. The win also serves as sporting redemption for Portugal following a recent football loss to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
