Alentejo 2030 program allocates €15.4 million for social housing

The Alentejo 2030 regional programme has launched two public calls for proposals to strengthen and qualify the public social‑housing stock across the Alentejo region. A total of €15.4 million in European funding is available: €9.2 million from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) for the inland area and €6.2 million from the Just Transition Fund for the Alentejo Litoral zone. The grants can cover up to 95 % of eligible investment costs for the construction or rehabilitation of social‑housing projects. Municipalities, private social‑solidarity institutions (IPSS) and other social‑sector entities may apply, provided they partner with local authorities and align with local housing strategies. Applications are submitted in phases, with the first phase closing on 31 August 2026 and the overall window remaining open until 30 December 2027.
