Portugal emergency responders injured in separate water‑treatment accident and wildfire

A worker at the Aljustrel water‑treatment station was lightly injured after a chlorine intoxication on 25 June 2026 and was taken to Hospital de Beja.

On 23 June 2026 a wildfire near Loulé injured four firefighters, two of whom were transported to Hospital de Faro with minor shoulder and knee injuries. The fire continued to spread on two active fronts, prompting a large emergency response.

Both incidents involved local emergency services and resulted in only mild injuries.
