FC Porto held its season presentation at Estádio do Dragão, featuring a friendly against Aston Villa and the anticipated debut of South Korean midfielder Inbeom Hwang. Goalkeeper‑captain Diogo Costa kept his number 99 shirt despite a challenge to change it.

Meanwhile, Benfica’s under‑16 side began pre‑season under former senior player Andreas Samaris, who claimed the academy is “among the three best formations in the world” and outlined goals to develop players for the senior squad.
