Portugal Football Federation seeks Ronaldo's return in November
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has signaled a desire to reintegrate Cristiano Ronaldo into the national team as early as November. This shift in tone follows an initial announcement that the federation would launch an urgent disciplinary investigation into the 41-year-old forward for breaking discipline.
The controversy stems from Ronaldo leaving the national team camp before a match against Denmark, after being left on the bench during a game against Norway. Ronaldo reportedly claimed that coach Jorge Jesus had broken promises made to him, though he acknowledged he must accept his punishment for leaving the camp.
During the inauguration of a new stadium in Porto, FPF President Pedro Proença stated that the federation, the coach, and the players are in agreement and wish to see the captain return. While Proença noted that the disciplinary process and independent evaluations must continue according to regulations, he expressed hope for Ronaldo's return during the November international window. If he returns then, he would effectively avoid serving a significant match suspension.
