Portugal hosts Aquabike Grand Prix at Mira and Youth Aquatlo in Amadora in early July
The Grande Prémio de Mira 2026 will take place from 2–5 July at Praia de Mira, marking the start of the European Aquabike Championship. Organized under the Union Internationale Motonautique with support from the Portuguese Motorboat Federation and the Mira municipality, the event will feature dozens of international pilots across categories such as Ski GP1, Runabout GP1, and junior classes, as well as freestyle displays. Public access to the viewing areas is free, and the competition is expected to draw significant tourism and boost the local economy.
On 5 July, the VII Aquatlo Jovem da Amadora will be held at the Piscina Municipal da Reboleira, forming the first race of the Amadora Triathlon 2026‑2029 series and part of the Lisbon and Alto Alentejo Youth Championship. The race combines pool swimming and a road running segment, with traffic closed on several avenues to ensure safety for young participants. It is organized by the Portuguese Triathlon Federation in partnership with the Amadora city council and the local swimming club, with registrations open until 1 July.
