Portugal hosts beach sports festivals in Mira and Faro

The municipality of Mira organized a beach soccer tournament on Praia de Mira from 5 to 16 August, featuring five local teams and attracting dozens of athletes and spectators. The event is part of the Onda de Verão 2026 programme aimed at promoting sport and community participation during the summer season.

From 14 to 16 August, the Praia de Faro will host the second edition of Meta Beach Fest, a free three‑day festival that combines sport, music and culture. Organized by the Associação Nova Meta with the Faro municipality, the festival includes footvolley, beach tennis and volleyball tournaments, a beach run, yoga, skate sessions and a market showcasing local artisans and businesses.
