Portugal hosts major youth festivals in Carrazeda de Ansiães and Mealhada

The municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães organized a free Festa da Juventude on 12 August for young people up to 35 years old. Activities included inflatable games, a mechanical bull, obstacle courses, pedal‑karts, human foosball, canoeing and paddle on the Fonte Longa reservoir, followed by an evening DJ set featuring DJ Camané, Karetus and DJ Fifty. The event is part of the municipal strategy to promote healthy lifestyles, civic participation and to make the town attractive for youth.

Mealhada hosted the 231 Fest – Festival da Juventude on 24‑25 July at the Quinta do Murtal, attracting thousands of youths and visitors. The two‑day programme combined music, community and celebration, with a diverse line‑up that included national acts such as ProfJam, Zanova and Wet Bed Gang alongside local emerging talent. Organized by the Zona 231 youth council, the festival is regarded as a growing regional reference and a platform for youth‑led involvement in municipal policy.
