Portugal hosts multiple live music and cine‑concert series in Famalicão and Porto

The 11th edition of CLOSE‑UP – Observatório de Cinema runs from 10 to 17 October in Famalicão, presenting three cine‑concerts commissioned by Casa das Artes. JP Simões opens the programme on 10 October with a new score for *Gente ao Domingo*; Club Makumba follows on 14 October with an afro‑beat, jazz‑infused soundtrack for *Zombie*; and Samuel Úria closes the series on 17 October with an original score for *História de um Proprietário Rural*.

Separately, the Câmara do Porto and the Associação Cultural de Músicos do Stop have announced a nine‑concert series in historic Porto bandstands from July to September. The project showcases a range of local bands—including Orbital Slave, Viledög, Mr Big Johnny & the Citizen Blues, Esquizofonia, Varizes, Diabo a 4, Trasgo, Lyzzärd and Enxerto Colectivo—aiming to revive the original public‑space function of the venues and highlight the Stop music ecosystem.
