Portugal hosts national youth cycling championships and Tomar youth week festivities

From July 31 to August 2, Cartaxo will host the Portuguese National Youth Cycling Championships. The three‑day program includes individual time trials and long‑distance races for cadet and junior categories, with courses ranging from 13.4 km to 110.4 km. More than 350 young cyclists are expected to compete for national titles, and registrations close on July 29 via the Portuguese Cycling Federation platform.

Meanwhile, Tomar’s Semana da Juventude 2026 runs from July 24 to July 27, offering a mix of music, sport and wellness activities. The agenda features the electronic‑music series Levada Beats, a 5‑km “Levada Run & Chill”, a mental‑health discussion panel, a garage‑band competition backed by the Rotary Club, and a free screening of the film “Tin Soldier: Agente Infiltrado”. The events are organized by the Tomar municipality in partnership with local associations.
