Portugal hosts vintage car rally and motorcycle pilgrimage

Portugal is hosting two significant automotive and motorcycle events this month. The 6th edition of the Corrida dos Fundadores, organized by the Museu do Caramulo, will take place from September 25 to 27. This rally features pre-war automobiles and motorcycles manufactured before 1939, including brands such as Bentley, Bugatti, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz. The route begins in Figueira da Foz, travels through Óbidos and Torres Vedras, and concludes with an exhibition in Belém, Lisbon.

Additionally, the 11th edition of the Peregrinação da bênção dos capacetes (Helmet Blessing Pilgrimage) is scheduled for September 20 in Fátima. Organized by the Associação Bênção Capacetes, this event is considered one of the largest motorcycle gatherings in Portugal. It brings together various motorcycle clubs and riders of all engine capacities to seek divine protection, an initiative aimed at addressing high road accident rates among motorcyclists.
