Portugal infrastructure updates: A1 highway junction and Alvito road works

The Portuguese Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Hugo Espírito Santo, confirmed in Parliament that the construction of the A1 highway access junction between Anadia and Oliveira do Bairro is included in the renegotiation of the highway concession. This follows a unanimous parliamentary resolution passed on July 12 regarding the project. The implementation of this connection depends on the conclusion of negotiations with the concessionaire, Brisa.

In Alvito, Mayor José Efigénio announced plans to rehabilitate two key road connections: a 13-kilometer stretch to Alfundão and a 10-kilometer section between Vila Nova da Baronia and the Odivelas Dam. The Alfundão project, involving the requalification of Municipal Road 524, has a base price of approximately 475,898 euros and a four-month execution period. The Mayor also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of response from the Ministry of Infrastructure regarding the maintenance of national roads within the municipality.
