Portugal issues €1.005 bn of 12‑month Treasury bills at 2.682% average rate

Portugal’s public debt agency IGCP placed €1.005 billion of 12‑month Treasury bills on the market, receiving an average placement rate of 2.682%. Demand reached 2.43 times the amount offered, with investors bidding for €2.44 billion.

Investment director Filipe Silva of Banco Carregosa noted that “the placement rate rose slightly compared with the previous issue, while demand remained solid,” and added that the current geopolitical environment and higher energy prices keep inflation risks and monetary‑policy expectations elevated, limiting the scope for sharper rate declines.
