Specifically, the complaint challenges Cabreiro's 2023 court testimony, in which he stated that no field wiretaps were performed. The allegation suggests that recordings were made during a meeting in Oeiras involving Aníbal Pinto, a convicted figure in the Football Leaks case, and other individuals.

The PGR has confirmed receipt of the complaint and referred the matter to the Lisbon Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) for investigation. Despite the legal challenge, the Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, has reiterated her confidence in Cabreiro's leadership.
